Properties

Information associated with a digital object is called properties. This information can be considered from various viewpoints, including the type of information, who creates it and where it is stored.
  • Types. There are many types of properties including: bibliographic information (content), technical (formats, schemas, protocols), rights (ownership, terms and conditions), administrative, etc.
  • Creation. Properties can be created by the originator of the object, an administrator, third party, etc.
  • Storage. Properties are stored in many places, including: properties records, meta-objects, separate digital objects, information retrieval servers, external indexes, etc.
